Who/What is airo?
airo is a New Zealand company that designs, manufactures and markets health and fitness solutions.
What is the airo health and fitness program?
The airo health and fitness program is an adaptive interval treatment program whereby the customer receives computer controlled levels of depleted oxygen.
What happens to my body when I’m breathing depleted oxygen?
Your body reacts to the depleted oxygen by producing more oxygen carrying red blood cells. When you finish the course you will in effect have more oxygen in your body. This gives you the sensation of having higher than normal energy levels.
How often do I need to do the course?
Each client needs to start with a 15 day airo health and fitness ‘base’ programme. The benefits from the 15 day airo programme last for approximately 5-8 weeks before requiring a top up. You would complete the 15 day programme at least once a year supported with intermittent top ups. We will assist with tailoring a specific programme to match your schedule to ensure an optimal response. We deliver a wide range of tailored programmes to suit the vast range of health and fitness levels attracted to the programme.
What is SpO2?
SpO2 refers to your bloods’ oxygen saturation level. In general your blood oxygen saturation level is around 97%. When you are receiving depleted oxygen, less than we normally receive at sea level, this figure drops. During the course you will be gradually exposed to depleted levels of oxygen that will cause your SpO2 to drop to approximately 80%. This depletion of oxygen causes the adaptive process in the body that generates the programmes benefits.
Why am I not reaching the oxygen saturation levels you gave me?
The oxygen saturation levels you are given are not numbers you MUST get to. They are more of a safety blanket and the numbers are levels we do not want you to go below and stay below during your session. If you find you do not reach these levels it is a good sign! You have adapted to that altitude and your body is responding to the training well. You are still becoming hypoxic and the programme is still working for you. The only time you should become worried that the machine is not working is if the client is not dropping below 97%.
Will the airo health and fitness program affect my current exercise routine?
No! You need to be aware that the airo program is an internal body workout and as such places stress on the body. We recommend that if you are going to exercise after a session, you should give your body sufficient time to recover from the airo session.
How long will it take before I notice the benefits of the programme?
Every user adapts differently to the program. In general, participants will receive full benefits of the program around 7-10 days after you have completed the program. You may notice improvements in your energy levels before the program has finished.
Do I need to alter my diet during the programme?
No. We do however recommend that you take iron supplements during the course and also remain hydrated.
Are there any negative effects?
No. If you have any pre-existing medical conditions we may re-assess the suitability of the program for that condition.
